5. Touch the static-protective package that contains the ServeRAID expansion
adapter to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server; then, grasp the
adapter by the top edge or upper corners of the adapter and remove it from
the package.
6. Align the ServeRAID expansion adapter so that the keys align correctly with
the connector on the riser-card assembly.
7. Insert the adapter into the connector on the riser-card until it is firmly seated.
Attention: Incomplete insertion might cause damage to the server or the
adapter.
8. Reinstall the riser-card assembly onto the system board.
9. Connect the power/configuration cable to the drive backplane and the system
board.
10. Connect the two shortest signal cables to port 0 on the adapter to port J3 on
the ServeRAID expansion adapter and port 1 on the adapter to J4 on the
ServeRAID expansion adapter.
11. Route the signal cables through the SAS cable guide and connect the signal
cables to the drive backplane and to the adapter as shown in the following
example illustration.
