What to do if Icom IC-7000 output power is too low?
    • S
      Sierra RiveraSep 12, 2025
If the output power of your Icom Transceiver is too low, first ensure the power is set to maximum in quick set mode. Check that the microphone gain is set to a suitable level using quick set mode. Also, make sure the antenna is properly connected, the feed line isn't cut or shorted, and the antenna is correctly tuned by pushing [TUNER/CALL].

How to fix Icom IC-7000 when power does not come on?
    • R
      Ryan BrownSep 12, 2025
If your Icom Transceiver doesn't power on, check the DC power cable connection and reconnect it correctly if needed. Also, inspect the fuse and replace it if blown. If you're using a 12 V battery, verify that the battery voltage is adequate.

Why is the sensitivity low on my Icom IC-7000?
    • P
      pennyjohnsonSep 12, 2025
If the sensitivity of your Icom Transceiver is low, check these: * The antenna might not be connected properly. Reconnect it to the antenna connector. * The antenna feed line could be cut or shorted. Check the feed line and correct any improper conditions. * The antenna may not be properly tuned. Push [TUNE/CALL] to manually tune the antenna. * The attenuator function might be activated. Push [P.AMP/ATT] to turn the function OFF.

How to fix Icom Transceiver if power does not come on?
    • F
      Frank HaydenSep 9, 2025
If your Icom Transceiver doesn't power on when you press the [PWR] key, consider the following: * The DC power cable may be improperly connected. Reconnect the power cable correctly. * A fuse might be blown. Check for the cause, then replace the fuse with a spare one. (Fuses are installed in two places: in the DC power cable and in the FRONT unit. Check the battery voltage.) * If using a 12V battery, it may be exhausted. Check the battery voltage.

Why is there no sound coming from my Icom IC-7000 Transceiver speaker?
    • M
      Maria MendozaSep 8, 2025
If no sound is coming from the speaker of your Icom Transceiver, there might be several reasons: * The volume level may be set too low. Rotate [AF] clockwise to increase the listening level. * The squelch might be closed. Rotate [SQL] counterclockwise to open the squelch. * The transceiver could be in transmitting condition. Release [PTT] on the microphone or check the SEND line of an external unit, if connected. * An external speaker or headphones could be connected. Check the external speaker or headphone plug connection.

What to do if Icom Transceiver frequency display doesn't change?
    • A
      anthonynorrisSep 8, 2025
If the displayed frequency on your Icom Transceiver isn't changing properly, first check if the dial lock function is activated. If so, push [SPCH/LOCK] to deactivate the function. If that doesn't work, the internal CPU may have malfunctioned. Reset the CPU by pushing [Y(BAND)] and [Z(BAND)] while turning the power ON by pushing [PWR].

Why doesn't programmed scan stop on my Icom Transceiver?
    • D
      durhamreginaldAug 23, 2025
If the programmed scan on your Icom Transceiver does not stop, it may be because the squelch is open. Set the squelch to the threshold position.

Why can't I contact other stations with my Icom Transceiver?
    • J
      Jeffery TaylorSep 6, 2025
If you are unable to contact other stations using your Icom Transceiver, it may be because the RIT function is activated. Push [F-1 RIT] in the RIT/?TX mode to turn the function OFF. Another reason may be that the Split function is activated. Push [F-1 SPL] in the M-1 menu to turn the function OFF.

What causes distorted receive audio on my Icom Transceiver?
    • L
      Lori MitchellSep 5, 2025
Distorted receive audio on your Icom Transceiver can be caused by an incorrectly selected operating mode. Select a suitable operating mode. It can also be caused by the PBT function being activated. Push [PBT/M-ch/RIT(CLR)] for 1 sec. to clear the PBT function.

Why are my transmitted signals distorted on my Icom IC-7000?
    • E
      Elizabeth FloydSep 4, 2025
If your transmitted signals are distorted on your Icom Transceiver, it might be due to the microphone gain being set too high. Adjust the MIC gain in quick Set mode. Also, if the speech compressor is ON, the compression level might be too high, so set the compression level to a suitable position.
