Why no sound from my Icom ID-52A Transceiver speaker?

  If no sound is coming from the speaker of your Icom Transceiver, there could be several reasons: * The volume may be too low. Rotate [VOL] to adjust the level. * The squelch level might be too high. Try adjusting the squelch level. * The tone or digital squelch function could be turned ON. Turn OFF the tone or digital squelch function. * An external speaker may be connected to the [SP] jack. Check the external speaker connection. * A Bluetooth headset might be connected. Disconnect the headset.

Check the battery polarity in the case.

  If the sensitivity of your Icom Transceiver is too low, and you can only hear strong signals, check the following: * If using an external antenna, the coaxial cable may not be connected or shorted. Check the coaxial cable connection or replace it with a new one. * The Attenuator function may be turned ON. Turn OFF the attenuator.

  If you do not receive a reply after making a call on your Icom Transceiver, it could be because: * The duplex function is set, meaning the receive and transmit frequencies are different. Set for simplex operation. * No station is in range or on the same frequency. Wait for a while, and try again.
