10.3. Exchange of the magnesium protec-
tion anode
Before the anode is unscrewed, the buff er must be
emptied. The drain valve is located on the underside
of the buff er. For draining a hose must be connected.
In order to protect the underlying electric from any
escaping residual water, it is best to cover it with a
foil.
The black connection line between the anode and the
buff er must be terminated.
Then the anode can be unscrewed by a suitable pipe
wrench.
The used magnesium protective anode can now be
pulled out and replaced by a new one.
The new anode will be screwed fi rmly and the black
connection cable between the anode and the buff er
must be pluged.
After refi lling the buff er, it must be checked for leaks
in the area of the protective anode.
