To edit a track’s settings, press Shift+Pad, or select Track Settings from the Settings menu. Press
a different pad to see and edit another track’s settings without exiting or pressing shift. Press
Back to exit track settings.
Assign Sound
Assign sound is discussed in the section on Assigning Sounds to Tracks.
Rename
Selecting rename track will display the text editor. Press F3 in the editor to save the new name.
The corresponding WAV file is not renamed until the kit or project is saved.
Track Info
Shows the length of the sound, and whether it is stereo or mono. Expanding the accordion
shows the file size, the sample rate, the bit depth, beats and BPM estimate, and the detected
pitch. Note that pitch detection takes about ½ second the first time it is run for a track. That can
cause a hiccough in sample playback. So, it is inadvisable to expand the track info accordion
during a performance.
Output Mix
If the file is stereo, there are four choices for how it plays. Select Left or Right to play only one
channel of a stereo file, or for stereo files that actually contain the same sound on both left and
right, which is quite common. Select L+R Mixed to mix the left and right into one mono channel.
Select stereo to play left and right in separate channels. Stereo samples play through output
pairs. A stereo sample set to either output 1 or output 2 will play through outputs 1 and 2.
Audio Engine
The options are HiFi or Classic. The Classic audio engine recreates the old school drop sample
method of pitch shifting. Classic also sets the playback bit depth to 12-bits, regardless of the
actual bit depth of the sample.
Bit Depth
Sets the playback bit depth for the sample. This is a classic bit-crush sound.
Output
Sets which output the sound will play through.
Choke Group
Sounds in the same choke group will choke (cut off or interrupt) other sounds in the group when
played. A common example is putting open and closed hihat sounds in the same choke group. A
sound can also be in no choke group and will not be choked by any other sounds.
Gain
Sets the base gain for a track. The gain setting is combined with the mix and level settings when
the track is played. Only level is saved in a pattern.
