Installing 40W and 50W ERT Modules
The 50W contains two batteries
The 50W ERT module can be programmed two ways:
1. Wake-Up Mode: A “wake-up” signal is sent from the meter-reading device* to the ERT module,
which responds with data transmission. This configuration requires an FCC license.
2. “Bubble-Up” Mode. In this mode, the FCC requires that no wake-up signal be sent. The
transmission of data from the ERT module occurs at preset times. No wake-up signal is needed
and no FCC license is required for this type of installation. To turn off the transmitter from the meter-
reading device, refer to the operating instructions for that device.
The 40W ERT module functions only in the “wake-up” mode.
