3.7 Bypass Plumbing Instructions
Themaximumowrateforthecellis92gpm.Ifowrateexceeds92gpm,thecellMUSTbeplumbedonby-pass
(seeFigure22).Acontrolvalvemustbeinstalledtoregulatetheowthroughthecell.Itcanbeinstalledontheinletside
ofthecellorbetweentheinletanddischargesideofthebypasspiping.Theproperowwillbeachievedbyadjustingthe
handle of the valve until the red “No Flow” light has turned off and all large air bubbles are cleared from the cell.

Iftheonlysuitablelengthofpipeisobstructed,suchasonamultiportvalveoftenfoundonasandlter,itis
acceptableto‘lean’thecelloveruptoamaximumof45degrees(seeFigure23).Markthefeederholesinthesame
angle that the cell will be leaning to ensure that you drill in the right position.
