3. Maintenance
Always be attentive to the instrument installation environment and keep it clean so
that the instrument can be used in a stabilized condition over a long period. The
following describes how to clean the sample chamber contaminated with spilt sample,
check if the instrument is operating properly and replace fuses and lamps.
3.1 Cautions in Use
. Wait for about 30 minutes after turning ON the $Power$ and starting up the
measurement program before operation.
. Do not place anything on the instrument.
. Upon completion of measurement, remove the sample from the sample chamber.
. Upon completion of a day%s measurement, turn OFF the $Power$ switch, wait for
about 15 minutes for the lamp to cool down and then put on the dust cover.
3.2 Cleaning Sample Chamber
If sample is spilt in the sample chamber, wipe it off with gauze or the like, remove the
sample cell unit according to the following procedure and clean it.
Note: Use ethyl alcohol to clean the sample chamber. Do not use other organic
solvents. The painting may come off.
3.2.1 Dismounting the sample cell unit
1) Remove the cell holder temperature sensor from the cell holder by sliding it
upward.
Note: See to it that stress is not applied to the signal wire of the temperature sensor.
2) Unloosen two setscrews from the floor of the sample cell unit with a screwdriver.
Lift the front panel of the sample cell unit by holding it to remove from the P-1000.
