lamp. Carefully remove the lamp from the socket holes by gently working the
inserted wrench up and down. Be careful not strike the lamp against the case.
(4) Take out a new lamp from the its case and insert it perpendicularly into the
socket by aligning the prongs of the lamp with the socket holes.
(5) Mount the lid back into place.
(6) Turn the $Power$ switch On and make sure that the instrument operates
properly. (See 3.4 “Performance Check,” for details.)
<Replacing the sodium (Na) lamp with the mercury (Hg) lamp (optional) >
WARNING : The lamp is still very hot after turning the $Power$ switch Off. Therefore,
wait at least five minutes before touching the lamp.
Note : Wear clean cloth gloves when handling the lamp. If the lamp surface is
contaminated, clean it with a cloth dipped in ethanol, then wipe off with a dry
cloth.
(1) Remove the Na lamp by following steps (1) through (3) of $Replacing the
sodium (Na) lamp.$
(2) Take out the Hg lamp from its case and insert it perpendicularly into the socket
by aligning the prongs of the lamp with the socket holes.
(3) Set the lamp selector switch on the rear of the lamp housing to $Hg.$
(4) Mount the lid back into place.
(5) Turn the $Power$ switch On and make sure that the instrument operates
properly.
Note 1 : Put the removed lamp in the case and store it in a safe place.
Note 2: Take the same steps to replace the Hg lamp with the Na lamp. At this time,
do not forget to set the selector switch to
