Compensating Master Cylinder
Dismantling and Assembly
Dismantling
1 Remove gaiter 1. Remove circlip 2 and washer 3.
followed by the actuating rod 4.
2 Shake the cylinder body 5, or use compressed air, to
eject piston assembly 6. Take care not to damage the
piston assembly, or the bore of the cylinder body 5.
3 Examine the working surfaces of piston and cylinder. If
these are not in perfect condition the master cylinder
assembly must be renewed.
Note: The piston assembly 6 can not be dismantled. If it is
damaged (including seal 7), the complete piston/seal
assembly must be renewed.
Assembling
!!
WARNING
Use of incorrect fluid will cause serious damage to the
seals which could in turn cause brake failure.
BRAK 1-1
1 Clean and lubricate all components, with JCB Special
Hydraulic Fluid. DO NOT USE CONVENTIONAL BRAKE
FLUID OR SERIOUS DAMAGE WILL BE CAUSED.
2 Take care not to damage the machined faces of piston
assembly 6 when assembling.
