Figure 64: Control panel heater thermostat options
Testing the OptiView Control Panel cooler
The OptiView panel has a cooler in it that removes heat from the panel to prevent overheating.
When the chiller power is energized, the control panel cooler operates the onboard cooling fans
regardless of the operating status of the cooler. To test that the cooler operates correctly, you
can adjust the control panel cooler thermostat knob. The value can be set to lower the required
temperature for the commissioning test.
1. To operate the cooler, set the value of the control panel cooler thermostat knob to a
temperature lower than ambient. See Figure 63.
2. When the cooler is running, check for cool air flowing from the top of the cooler unit.
3. After confirming operation, set the thermostat back to 90°F (32.2°C).
Note: This cooler has a low wattage onboard heater that is automatically controlled and
cannot be adjusted. The heater turns on at less than 40°F (4.4°C) and off at greater than
55°F (12.8°C). This heater does not need to be tested.
Testing UPS panel heating for the YVAM Mod A
The UPS panel does not have a dedicated heater system. It relies on the exchange of coolant
with the chiller drive coolant loop to add heat to this panel. As a result, no heating testing can be
conducted for this panel.
To verify that the heating and cooling circuit is functioning, use the OptiView panel to navigate to
the appropriate screens for manually operating the coolant pumps for each cabinet.
1. Navigate to Home > VSD > VSD Details > Manual Cooling and select Enabled.
2. Verify that the VSD coolant pump is operating.
3. Navigate to Home > VSD > Power Panel > Manual Power Panel Cooling and select Enabled.
4. Verify that the power panel coolant pump is operating.
5. Disable the manual operation of both pumps.
6. Note the correct operation of the pumps in 160.88-CL2.
For YVAM Mod B design chillers, the air-conditioning unit in the single point combined power
panel has an additional electrical cabinet heater. The heating setup can be entered in the air-
conditioning setup display.
Automatic battery health test during shutdown
For periodic maintenance or to diagnose battery faults or warnings, a battery health test can be
performed. This test is initiated from the Power Panel screen of the OptiView panel to monitor
battery voltage while under a known load. This ensures that the battery has enough capacity left to
withstand a power failure event. The test is available through operator access level or higher.
1. At the keypad, log on at Operator access level using access level code 9 6 7 5 or a higher level.
