2 Preparation
This section describes the preparation that is required for operation of the
instrument.
2.1 Inserting the battery
h Undo the screw for the battery cover
h Turn the screw with a suitable screwdriver or coin.
h Take off the battery cover.
h Carefully insert a type LR6 (AA) battery.
Please observe the correct polarity.
h Put the battery cover back in position and tighten up the screw.

Unscrew, e.g. with a coin.
After the battery has been fitted, the instrument will make a fresh
start (reset).
The function menu “Date/Time (Fn0)”, for setting the year, will be
shown in the LCD display.
h Set up the year, date and time.
The instrument will automatically switch itself off if no keys are
pressed within the auto-switch-off time that has been configured
(factory setting: 3 minutes).
