When this button is pressed, the CANCEL in-
dicator will light for about 5 seconds. Press-
ing a preset station button while the CANCEL
indicator is lit will erase the memory for the sta-
tion that was assigned to that button.
@ FM MODE/MUTE
Press this button to light up ‘FM AUTO” and
“FM MUTE” indicators in the display for nor-
mal FM reception. For weak or noisy FM
broadcast, press this button again to turn off
“FM AUTO” and “FM MUTE” indicators in the
display. The broadcast will be heard in mono
but the clarity of reception will be improved.
@ TUNING
DOWN: To lower receiving frequency, press
this button.
UP: To raise receiving frequency, press this
button.
DR-E31BK: Each time that you press this
button, the FM frequency will change by a
50 kHz step, and AM frequency by a 9 kHz
or 10 kHz step.
DR-E31LBK: Each time that you press this
button, the FM frequency will change by a
50 kHz step, MW by 9 kHz step, and LW by
a 1 kHz step. This unit is constructed so that
MW and LW can be changed automatically by
pressing the tuning button. For LW, if you want
to raise the frequency, it can be changed au-
tomatically from 353 kHz to 522 kHz. Con-
versely,
if
you
wish
to
lower
the
frequency,
it
can be automatically changed from 522 kHz
to 353 kHz. (For Italy from 522 kHz to
290 kHz).
Pressing either button for more than 1 second
and then releasing it starts auto tuning, when
a broadcast is received, tuning will stop. If
either button is kept held in, scanning con-
tinues even when a broadcast is received. In
auto tuning, pressing either button stops scan-
ning.
During
tuning
toward
higher
frequencies,
when
the
upper
limit
frequency
(108.00
MHz
for FM) is reached, the frequency will change
to the lower limit (87.50 MHz for FM) and then
auto tuning restarts in the direction of increas-
ing frequency. During tuning toward lower fre-
quencies, when the tower limit (87.50 MHz for
FM) is reached, the frequency will change to
the upper limit (108.00 MHz for FM) and auto
tuning
restarts
in
the
direction
of
lower
frequen-
cies. The same operation is performed in AM
tuning.

Nach Betatigen dieser Taste leuchtet die
CANCEL-Anzeige fiir ca. 5 Sekunden. Wird in-
nerhalb dieser Zeit eine Senderspeichertaste
betatigt, erfolgt die L6schung des ftir diesen
Speicher gehaltenen Senders.

Bei Tastendruck leuchten die Anzeigen ‘FM
AUTO” und “FM MUTE” im Anzeigefenster
fir normaten UKW-Empfang auf. Bei schwa-
chem oder gestértem UKW-Empfang sollte
man diese Taste erneut betatigen, um die An-
zeigen ''FM AUTO” und ‘FM MUTE” zu |é-
schen. Die Ubertrangung wird dann zwar nur
in Mono empfangen, weist aber bessere Qua-
litat auf.
@ Abstimmtasten (TUNING)
DOWN: Zum Verringern der Empfangsfre-
quenz diese Taste drticken.
UP: Zum Erhdéhen der Empfangsfrequenz
diese Taste drucken.
DR-E31BK: Bei jedem Druck auf diese Ta-
ste andert sich die FM-Frequenz um jeweils
50 kHz, die AM-Frequenz um jeweils 9 kHz,
bzw. 10 kHz.
DR-E31LBK: Bei jedem Druck auf diese Ta-
ste andert sich die FM-Frequenz um jeweils
50 kHz, die MW-Frequenz um 9 kHz und die
LW-Frequenz um 1 kHz. Durch Tastendruck
kann abwechselnd zwischen MW und LW um-
geschaltet werden. Fur LW kann so automa-
tisch die Frequenz von 353 kHz auf 522 kHz
gewechselt werden. Umgekehrt kann die Fre-
quenz automatisch von 522 kHz auf 353 kHz
(290 kHz fur Italien) gewechselt werden.
Wird eine der Tasten fur mehr als eine Sekun-
de gedriickt gehalten und dann freigegeben,
Startet die automatische Abstimmung. Bei
Empfang einer Senderfrequenz halt die Ab-
stimmung an. Wird die Taste gedrtickt gehal-
ten, wird auch bei Senderempfang weiter
abgetastet. Bei automatischer Abstimmung un-
terbricht die Betatigung einer der Tasten den
Abtastvorgang. Bei Abstimmung in Richtung
hdherer
Frequenzen
schaltet
die
Frequenz
bei
Erreichen des oberen Emptangsbandendes
(108,00 Mhz bei UKW) zum unteren Emp-
fangsbandende um (87,50 MHz bei UKW).
Hier wird dann erneut die Automatik-
Abstimmung in Richtung héherer Frequenzen
gestartet. Bei Abstimmung in Richtung niedri-
gerer Frequenzen schaitet die Frequenz ent-
sprechend bei (87,50 Mhz bei UKW) zum
oberen Empfangsbandende um (108,00 MHz
bei UKW). Hier wird dann erneut die
Automatik-Abstimmung in Richtung niedrige-
rer Frequenzen gestartet. Dieser Ablauf gilt ent-
sprechend fur die MW-Abstimmung.

Quand cette touche est pressée, I'indicateur
CANCEL s’allumera pendant environ cing se-
condes. Une pression sur une touche de sta-
tion prérégiée pendant que l'indicateur
CANCEL est allumé effacera la mémoire po-
ur la station qui était assignée a cette touche.
@ Touche de mode FM/Silencieux
(FM MODE/MUTE)
Appuyer sur cette touche pour que “AUTO”
de FM MODE et “ON” de FM MUTE s’allu-
ment dans |’affichage pour la réception FM
normle. Pour une émission stéréo FM faible ou
bruitée, appuyer 4 nouveau sur cette touche
pour que “MONO” de FM MODE et OFF”
de FM MUTE s’allument dans |'affichage.
L’émission sera entendue en mono, mais la
qualité de la réception sera améliorée.
@ Syntonisation (TUNING)
DOWN: Appuyer sur cette touche pour
syntoniser sur une fréquence plus basse.
UP: Appuyer sur cette touche pour syntoni-
ser sur une fréquence plus élevée.
DR-E31BK: A chaque pression sur cette tou-
che, la fréquence FM est modifiée de 50 kHz,
et la fréquence AM de 9 kHz ou 10 kHz.
DR-E31LBK: A chaque pression sur cette
touche, la fréquence FM est modifiée de
50 kHz, la fréquence PO de 9 kHz, et la fré-
quence GO de 1 kHz. Cet appareil est concu
de fagon a ce que les PO et les GO se com-
mutent automatiquement sur simple pression
de la touche de syntonisation. Pour augmen-
ter la fréquence des GO, il est possible de pas-
ser automatiquement de 353 kHz & 522 kHz.
Pour au contraire diminuer la fréquence, il est
possible de passer directement de 522 kHz a
353 kHz. (Pour I'Italie de 522 kHz 4 290 kHz)
Tenir pressée une touche pendant plus d’une
seconde et la relacher fait partir la syntonisa-
tion automatique. Quand une émission est
recue, le balayage s’arréte. Si une touche est
maintenue pressée, le balayage continue
méme quand une émission est recue. En
syntonisation automatique, une pression sur
l'une des touches arréte le balayage. Pendant
la syntonisation vers des fréquences plus éle-
vées, quand la limite supérieure (108,00 MHz
pour FM) est atteinte, la fréquence sera chan-
gée a la limite inférieure (87,50 MHz pour FM)
et puis la syntonisation automatique reprend
en fréquences croissantes. Pendant la synto-
nisation vers des fréquences plus basses,
quand la limite inférieure (87,50 MHz pour FM)
est atteinte, la fréquence sera changée a la
limite supérieure (108,00 MHz pour FM) et puis
la syntonisation automatique reprend en fré-
quences décroissantes. Le méme fonctionne-
ment est effectué en syntonisation AM.
