Tuned
Frequencies
You
can
preset
up
to
a
total
of
40
AM
(MW/LW)/FM
radio
stations
by
assigning
channel
numbers
(1
through
40)
to
them.
Once
a
station
is
preset,
you
can
listen
to
it
by
pressing
the
PRESET
<
or
>
button
on
the
front
panel
or
the
numeric
buttons
of
the
remote
control.
In
some
cases,
test
frequencies
have
been
already
memorized
for
the
receiver
since
the
factory
examined
the
preset
function
before
shipment.
This
is
not
a
malfunction.
You
can
preset
the
stations
you
want
into
memory
by
following
the
presetting
method.
IMPORTANT!
The
FM
reception
mode
(page
14)
is
also
memorized
when
you
presetting
stations.
Select
the
FM
reception
mode
you
want
before
presetting
a
station.
To
preset
stations
into
channel
numbers,
follow
these
steps:
Step
1
Tune
toa
station,
[f
necessary,
follow
the
procedure
on
page
!4.
Step
2
Press
the
MEMORY
button
on
the
front
panel.
The
CH-_
_
indicator
lights
up.
Step3
On
the
front
panel:
Using
the
PRESET
<
or
>
button,
select
a
number
(1
through
40).
This
number
is
the
channel
number
you
are
assigning
to
the
station.
From
the
remote
control:
Press
the
numeric
buttons.
To
select
17
Press
+10,
then
7.
To
select
20
Press
+10,
then
10.
To
select
25
Press
+10
twice.
then
5.
To
select
40
Press
+10
three
times,
then
10.
NOTE:
When
you
use
the
remote
control,
be
sure
that
the
numeric
buttons
are
activated
for
the
tuner,
not
for
the
CD
player
or
others.
IMPORTANT!
You
must
enter
the
channel
number
while
_
_
is
blinking
on
the
display.
You
have
about
5
seconds
to
do
this.
If
the
CH-_
_
indicator
goes
off
before
you
enter
the
channel
number,
press
the
MEMORY
button
again.
Step
4
While
the
preset
channel
number
is
blinking,
press
the
MEMORY
button
again.
When
“MEMORY”
appears
on
the
display,
presetting
is
completed.
To
cancel
a
stored
preset
station:
Storing
a
new
station
on
a
number
already
assigned
erases
the
previously
stored
one.
IMPORTANT!
The
preset
channels
will
be
erased
in
a
few
days
in
the
following
cases:

When
you
press
out
the

POWER
switch.
¢
When
you
unplug
the
power
cord.
¢
When
a
power
failure
occurs.

Tuning
in
a
Preset
Station
Once
a
tuned
frequency
is
preset,
it
can
be
directly
called
up.
On
the
front
panel:
Step
1
Press
the
FM
or
AM
(MW/LW)
button.
The
last
received
station
of
the
last
selected
band
is
tuned
in.
Step
2
Press
the
PRESET
<
or
>
button
to
select
a
preset
channel
number.
Pressing
the
PRESET
>
button
changes
preset
channels
in
increasing
order.
Pressing
the
PRESET
<
button
changes
preset
channels
in
decreasing
order.
From
the
remote
control:
Step
1
Press
the
FM/AM
button.
The
last
received
station
of
the
last
received
band
is
tuned
in.
Each
time
you
press
the
button,
the
band
alternates
between
FM
and
AM
(MW/LW).
Step
2
Press
the
numeric
buttons
to
select
the
preset
channel
number.
To
select

+10,
then
7.
To

Press

then
10.
To

Press

then

To

Using
the
RDS
(Radio
Data
System)
to
Receive
FM
Stations
RDS
allows
FM
stations
to
send
an
additional
signal
along
with
their
regular
program
signals.
For
example,
the
stations
send
their
station
names,
as
well
as
information
about
what
type
of
program
they
broadcast,
such
as
sports
or
music,
etc.
When
tuned
to
an
FM
station
which
provides
the
RDS
service,
the
RDS
indicator
lights
up
on
the
display.
NOTE:
RDS
may
not
operate
correctly
if
the
station
tuned
is
not
transmitting
data
properly
or
if
the
signal
strength
is
weak.
With
the
receiver,
you
can
receive
the
following
types
of
RDS
signals.
PS
(Program
Service)
:
PTY
(Program
Type)
:
RT
(Radio
Text)
:
shows
commonly
known
station
names
shows
types
of
broadcast
programs
shows
text
messages
the
station
sends
On
characters
displayed
When
the
display
shows
PS,
PTY,
or
RT
signals,
the
following
characters
are
used.
*
The
display
cannot
differentiate
upper
case
and
lower
case
letters
and
always
uses
upper
case
letters.
*
The
display
cannot
show
accented
letters,
“A”,
for
instance,
may
stand
for
accented
“A's”
like
A,
A, A,
A,
A,
and
A.”
