IMPORTANT NOTE
When the KAYPRO 10 is booted from the fLoppy drive,
aLL of the drive Letters are changed!
One characteristic of CP/M is that it ALWAYS BOOTS
FROM DRIVE A. Therefore, if there is a diskette in
the diskette drive, then the boot is from the
diskette drive, and the diskette drive becomes drive
A.
After booting from a diskette, the new drive assign-
ments are:
DISKETTE DRIVE - A: (normaLLy C:)
HARD DISK - B: AND C:
That portion of the hard disk that was A drive is
now B drive. The part that was B drive is now C
drive.
These assignments remain in effect untiL the
computer is powered up or reset from the hard disk
with no diskette in the diskette drive.
Third Party Software
For programs that you purchase separateLy or that
you write, make master copies, and keep them in a
safe pLace.
Data Fi Les
Data fiLes, especiaLLy business data f i Les, such as
those from an accounting system, require a more
eLaborate backup. The foLLowing system is the
MINIMUM and the Least compLicated method.
1. On day 1, back up aLL data on a bLank diskette.
