One
characteristic
of
CP/M
is
that
it
ALWAYS
BOOTS
FROM
DRIVE
A.
Therefore,
if
there
is
a
diskette
in
the
diskette
drive,
then
the
boot
is
from
the
diskette
drive,
and
the
diskette
drive
becomes
drive
A.
After
booting
from
a
diskette,
the
new
drive
assign-
ments
are:
DISKETTE
DRIVE
-
A:
(normaLLy
C:)
HARD
DISK
- B:
AND
C:
That
portion
of
the
hard
disk
that
was
A
drive
is
now B
drive.
The
part
that
was
B
drive
is
now C
drive.
These
assignments
remain
in
effect
untiL
the
computer
is
powered
up
or
reset
from
the
hard
disk
with
no
diskette
in
the
diskette
drive.

keep
them
in
a
safe
