Section 6: Sanitization Procedure for K5 Air Charge Install – Microbiological
Purifier – Chlorine Dioxide
Note: The following steps should be taken immediately after installation; no water should be in the unit.
Safety glasses and rubber/latex gloves must be worn during sanitization.
1. Crush one tablet of
cleaning agent and add to
4 oz. of soft water.
2. Make all installation
tubing connections.
4. Attach anti-spray line to
the faucet and make sure
that faucet is closed and
the storage tank valve is
open
This is your pre-dissolved solution that
will be used in later steps. The solution
must be used within 8 hours.
Cleaning Agent
chlorine dioxide tablet
(crush tablet while still in
packet) or graules
3. Make sure drive port
(yellow) is plugged and
that gray air charge
spacer is installed in RO
shutoff valve assembly
5. Install cartridge plugs in
RO, Auxiliary and
postfilter positions
6. Disconnect tubing from
drain and secure into a
bucket
8. Crush one tablet of cleaning
agent, add to a dry cartridge
plug and install in open
Auxiliary position.
7. Open jack screw
completely
9. By dropper, add 2 mL of
pre-dissolved sanitizer to a
cartridge plug and install in
the prefilter position
10. Slowly crack the supply
valve part way open and
observe the drain port
12. Re-attach the drain line
and close the jack screw
completely (clockwise)
11. When water comes from
drain port, close the
supply valve
Note: Do not over tighten.
