Section 5: Sanitization Procedure for K5 Air Charge Install – Household
Bleach (unscented) – uses Sanitization Kit Part No. 9392A
Note: The following steps should be taken immediately after installation; no water should be in the unit.
Safety glasses and rubber/latex gloves must be worn during sanitization.
1. Attach anti-spray line
2. Close feed / open tank
3. Confirm jack screw is
closed and the standard
tank spacer (gray) is
installed in the RO shutoff
position.
The faucet should be closed.
4. Install cartridge plugs in
all locations, except
prefilter
5. Add 5 mL unscented
bleach to a sanitization
cartridge that is half full
of clean water.
6. Slowly open feed valve
7. Wait 4 minutes
Note: You may hear
a buzzing sound
from the unit. This is
normal for start-up.
Check for leaks.
8. Close feed / close tank
9. Slowly crack open faucet
to depressurize the system
10. Allow system to depressurize
– leave faucet open
WARNING: Do not
open faucet all the
way. Air, water and
chemical solution will
spray out forcefully.
Be prepared to
control the
anti-spray line.

The feed valve
should be closed.
The tank valve
should be open.

Install 4 plugs in these locations.
