Using the numeric keypad to send a fax
To send a fax from the numeric keypad:
1. Press Fax.
2. Enter a fax number using the numeric keypad.
3. Press Start Black to send a black-and-white fax or Start Color to send a color fax.
Using the Redial button to send a fax
To send a fax to the last number dialed:
1. Press Redial.
2. Press Start Black to send a black-and-white fax or Start Color to send a color fax.
If there is no number to redial, the phonebook opens.
Receiving a fax
You can set up your printer to receive faxes automatically or manually. Even if your
printer is set up to receive faxes automatically, you can still receive them manually at
any time.
Receiving a fax automatically
To receive faxes automatically:
1. Load letter (8.5 x 11 in. / 22 x 28 cm) or A4 (8.3 x 11.7 in. / 21 x 30 cm) plain
paper into the paper tray (
see Loading plain paper, page 16).
2. Make sure the Auto Answer LED is on. (If not, press Auto Answer to turn it on.)
The printer will receive all incoming faxes automatically.
