Remove modem from the transfer switch and
verify that it is operating properly. (Refer to
modem operation manual from the manufacturer
of the modem) Is the modem operating correctly?
Replace the modem.
Connect a PC directly to the communication
interface board and try to communicate with the
transfer switch. Refer to TP-5656 for instructions
on setting up communications directly to the
transfer switch. Is communication successful?
Problem with modem or phone
system. Correct or replace.
Is there 5 vdc between pins
1 and 6 of plug P13 on the
communications board?
Is there 5 vdc between
pins 1 and 6 of plug P12
on the logic board?
Replace the ribbon cable
between the communications
board and the logic board.
Replace the logic board.
Is there 10 vdc between
pins 7 and 6 of plug P13 on
the communications board?
Is there 10 vdc between pins 7 and
6 of plug P12 on the logic board?
Replace the ribbon cable
between the communications
board and the logic board.
Is there 10 vdc between pins 14 and
28 of plug P3 on the logic board?
Replace the logic board.
Is there 10 vdc between pins 14 and 28
of plug P2 on the power supply board?
Replace the ribbon cable between the
logic board and the power supply board.
Replace the power supply board.
Do all functions of the logic
board operate properly?
Replace the
communications
board.
Replace the
logic board.
