Alithiumthionylchloridebatterydoesnotcontainanyheavymetals,andisthereforenot
regardedasspecialwaste(itcontainsonlybiodegradableparts).
Ausedlithiumbatterycancontainasignicantamountofresidualenergy.Itisthe
dangerofexplosionthatpresentsaproblemwhendisposingofabattery.Usedbatteries
mustthereforebehandledwiththesamecareasnewones.

Forsafedisposal,contactthenearestlocalcompanythathasbeenapprovedtocollect
anddisposeoflithiumbatteries.
SECTION14:Transportinformation
TransportationofthecNODEMiniSmusttakeplacewithadherencetoapplicablelaws,
regulationsandguidelines;includingthosewhoaddressthetransportationofdangerous
goodsinallmodesoftransport.Tocomplywithregulationsforairtransportation,the
batterymusthave30%orlessremainingcapacity.
ThebatteryiscertiedaccordingtoUN38.3.

EachcNODEMiniStransponderistransportedasaclosedandsealedunit,andmust
notbeopenedbyunauthorizedpersonnel.
ThecNODEMiniStranspondermustbeshippedinaccordancewiththeprevailing
nationalregulations;UN3481PI967SectionII,Miscellaneous(LithiumIon
batteriesincludedinequipment).
