Selecting Programs by Category
ThereareotherwaystoselectPrograms,butherewe’ll
explainhowtoselectprogramsbytheircategory,such
askeyboard,organ,bass,ordrumsounds.
ForotherwaystoselectPrograms,seethe“Playing
andeditingPrograms”chapteroftheOG.
1. IntheLCDscreen,presstheCategorypopup
button.

TheCategorypopupmenuwillappear.
2. Usethetabsatthelefttoselectacategory.
Thespaceontherightwillthenshowallofthe
Programsinthatcategory,inalloftheinternalbanks.
3. Optionally,pressoneoftheinnertabstoselecta
su
bcategory,tonarrowtheselection.
Ifanyofthecategoriesorsubcategoriescan’tbe
selected,thismeansthatnoProgramshavebeen
assignedtothatcategory.
4. SelectaProgramfromthelist.
YoucaneithertouchthenameofaPrograminthelist,
pressthe/ buttons,orusetheVal
uedial.You
canplaythehighlightedProgramfromthekeyboard
withoutleavingthepopup.
5. Ifnotalltheitemsinthelistcanbeshowninthe
screen,usethescrollbarstoviewtherestofthe
list.
6. Whenyou’vefoundaProgramyoulike,pressthe
OKbuttontoclosethedialog
box.Thengoahead
andplay!

Selecting Combinations
ACombinationconsistsofuptosixteenProgramsthat
aresplitand/orlayeredtogether.Italsousesuptofour
KARMAmodulessimultaneously(aProgramcanuse
onlyoneKARMAmodule),lettingyouproducefar
morecomplexsoundsthanaProgram.Toselect
Combinations:
1. PresstheCOMBIbuttontoenterCombination
mode.
TheCOMBILE
Dwilllightup.
Onceyou’reinCombimode,youcanselectandplay
Combinationsbyeitherbank/numberorcategory,in
thesamewayasyoudidPrograms.
Using controllers to modify the sound
Joysticks, ribbon, and switches
Noticethemanycontrollerslocatedontheleftsideof
theKRONOS’frontpanel.Youcanuseallofthese
controllers–includingthejoystick,vectorjoystick,
ribboncontroller,andSW1/SW2switches–tovarythe
soundasyouplay.Formoreinformationonthese

page 6.

controllerdoesfortheselectedsound.
Control Surface overview
Noticethemixerlikearrangementofsliders,knobs,
