Recording MIDI and audio
Auto Song Setup
TheAutoSongSetupfeaturecopiesthecurrent
ProgramorCombinationintoaSong,andthenputs
thesysteminrecord‐readymode.Wheninspiration
strikes,youcanusethisfunctiontostartrecording
immediately.TodosofromProgrammode:
1. HolddowntheENTERkeyandpressthe
SEQUENCERREC/WRITEkey.

2. PressOK.
ThesystemswitchestoSequencermode,withrecord
alreadyenabled.
3. PresstheSTART/STOPkeytostartthesequencer
andbeginrecording.
Withthedefaultsettings,therewillbeatwomeasure
count‐downbeforerecordingstarts.
4. Playwhatyou
’dliketorecord,andthenpress
START/STOPtostoprecording.
Thesequencerwillautomaticallyreturntothe
beginningoftheSong(beat1ofmeasure1,asshownin
theupperright‐handcorner:001:01.000).
5. PressSTART/STOPtohearwhatyourecorded.
SinceyoustartedinProgrammode,yourplayingwill
havebeenrecordedonTrack1.IfyouusedtheDrum
Track,itwillhavebeenrecordedonTrack10.For
Combinations,moretracksareusedasneeded.
Adding another MIDI track
1. IfKARMAwason,pressthefront‐panelKARMA
buttontoturnitoff.
2. TurnofftheMultiRECcheck‐box,intheupper
rightofthedisplay.
AutoSongSetupturnsthisontorecordtheProgram’s
DrumTrack,ormultiplechannelsinaCombination.
3. BelowtheSongname,opentheTrackSelect
po
pupandselec
tMIDITrack02.
Thiscontrolsboththetrackthatyouplayfromthe
keyboard,and(withMultiRECturnedoff)thetrack
that’srecorded.
4. UsingtheCategoryorBank/ProgramSelectpopup
menus,selectaProgramforTrack02.
5. PressLOCATEtogobacktothestartoftheSong.
6. PressREC/WRITEtoena
blerecording,andthen
pressSTART/STOPtostart.
7. Playwhatyou’dliketorecord,andthenpress
START/STOPwhenyou’redone.
Adding an audio track

Usetherear‐panelLEVELknob,andnottheon‐screen
slider.Ifthesignalclips,you’llseethemessage“A D C
OVERLOAD!”appearoverthemeter.
8. PressLOCATEtogobacktothestartoftheSong.
9. PressREC/WRITEtoenablerecording,andthen
pressSTART/STOPtostart.
10.Playwhatyou’dliketorecord,andthenpress
START/STOPwhenyou’redone.
Un-saved audio files
Whenyourecordaudiotracks,they’reinitiallystored
inafoldernamed“TEMP”ontheinternaldisk.Ifyou
thenturnoffthepowerbeforesavingtheSong,the
Songwillbelost,buttheaudiofileswillstillbeonthe
disk.Thenexttimethatyoustartup,you’llseethe
followingmessage
:
Thereareun‐savedaudiofilesfromyourprevious
recordingsession.
Doyouwanttorestorethesefiles,ordeletethem
fromthedisk?
[Restore][Delete]
SincetheSongwasnotsaved,allthetrackaudioevent
dataandregiondataisgone,butyoucanstillrestore
theWAVEfilesandusethe
mtocreateanewsong.
Ifyouwanttokeepthisdata,pressRestore.Ifyou
wanttodeletethisdata,pressDelete.
