Saving your edits
Understanding Write and Save
Therearetwowaystostoreyourworkonthe
KRONOS:WriteandSave.
YoucanuseWriteforPrograms,Combinations,Set
Lists,WaveSequences,DrumKits,andFXPresets—
everythingexceptforSongs,Samples,and
Multisamples.Writestoresintotheinternalmemory,
whichpersistsevenifyouturnpoweroffandonagain.

sdatatofilesondisk—eithertheinternal
driveorUSBstoragedevices.YoumustuseSavefor
Songs,Samples,andMultisamples.Saveisalsohandy
foralltheotherdatatypes,though.Forinstance,you
caneasilySavetheentirestateoftheKRONOS,
includingallus
er‐editabledata,inasinglestep.
Hundredsofthesefileswillfitontotheinternaldrive.
Youcanusethisforbackups,andforsavingand
recallingsetupsforparticularprojects,gigs,andsoon.
Writing Programs
TowriteaProgramtotheinternalmemory:
1. SelecttheWriteProgramcommandfromthepage
menu,attheupperright‐handcornerofthescreen.
Youcanalsocallupthismenucommandbyholding
ENTERandpressing0onthenumerickeypad.
Thisbringsupadialogboxwhichallowsyoutosav
e
theProgram
.Optionally,youcanalsoselectanew
location,changetheProgram’sname,andassignittoa
soundcategory(suchaskeyboard,guitar,etc.).
2. Pressthe“T”buttontobringupthetextedit
dialog.
YoucangivetheProgramadescriptivenameusingthe
on‐screenke
yboard.
3. Afterenteringthename,pressOK.
Thete
xteditwindowwilldisappear,returningyouto
themainWritedialog.
4. Under“To”atthebottomofthedialog,pressthe
popupbuttonnexttoProgramtobringupthesave
locationdialog.
5. SelectalocationtosavetheeditedProgram.
Fromthefactory,banksUSER
–GandAA…GGareleft
openforyouruse,containingonlyinitialized
Programs.Ifyoulike,youcanalsooverwriteanyofthe
factorysounds(exceptfortheGeneralMIDIsoundsin
I‐G),andeasilyre‐loadthemfromdiskatanytime.

toquicklyupdatethecurrentProgram,usingthe
existingname,bank,number,andcategory.Todoso:
1. PresstheSEQUENCERREC/WRITEbutton.

differenttypesofdata,butfornowwe’llconcentrate
onthethreemaintypes:.PCG,,.SNG,and.KSCfiles.

Thesefilescanalsoinc

KARMAGEs.PCGsarevariableinsize;theymay
includeonlyasinglebankofPrograms,forinstance,or
