Basic functions
Multi mode
Controller settings 2.2: Controller
For each multi, specify the functions for the B-mode of
the REALTIME CONTROLS knobs [1]–[4] and for
“SW1” and “SW2.” (☞p.100, PG p.53, 213, 214)
Status, MIDI channel, and note mode
settings 3.1: Param1

Status
If you are using the TRITON-Rack in Multi mode as a
16-track multi-timbral tone generator, set the Status to
either INT or BTH. (
☞PG p.54)
If the track “Status” is set to INT, the internal tone gen-
erator will sound when you play RPPR or the arpeggia-
tor. When you operate the controllers of the TRITON-
Rack, they will control the track selected for “Control
Track.”
If the track status is set to EXT or EX2, an external tone
generator will sound when you play RPPR or the
arpeggiator. When you operate the controllers of the
TRITON-Rack, they will control the external tone gen-
erator on the track selected for “Control Track.” You
will need to set the MIDI channel of the external tone
generator to match the “MIDI Channel” of the EXT and
EX2 tracks of the TRITON-Rack.
If the status is set to BTH, the operations of both INT
and EXT will occur. Both the external tone generator
and the TRITON-Rack’s tone generator will sound and
be controlled simultaneously.
MIDI Channel
Sets the MIDI channel of the track you wish to play so
that it matches the MIDI channel of the transmitting
device. For example if note data is received on MIDI
channel 01, the track(s) set to “MIDI Channel” 01 will
sound (if “Status” is INT).
Bank (EX2) MSB, Bank (EX2) LSB
These settings are valid if “Status” is EX2; they specify
the bank select messages that will be transmitted from
the TRITON-Rack.
OSC page
Force OSC mode
OSC Select
Portamento
For each track, specify whether the program will be
polyphonic/monophonic, the oscillator(s) that will be
sounded, and the portamento time. (
☞PG p.54)
Pitch page
Transpose, Detune (BPM Adj.)
For each track, specify the pitch of the program. (☞PG
p.55)
Note timing and scale settings
3.2: Param2
Other page
Delay [ms]
Use Prog’s Scale, Multi’s Scale
Specifies the timing at which the program of each track
will sound, and the scale that it will use. (
☞PG p.56)
Layer and split settings
3.3: Key Zone
Specifies the range of keys for which each track will
sound, and the range of keys over which the original
volume will be reached from the top key and bottom
key. (
☞PG p.56)
Velocity switch settings
3.4: Vel Zone
Specifies the range of velocities for which each track
will sound, and the range of velocity values over which
the original volume will be reached from the top veloc-
ity and bottom velocity. (
☞PG p.57)
MIDI filter settings
4.1: MIDI Filter1–4.4: MIDI Filter4
For each MIDI filter, specify whether MIDI messages
will be received. Messages that are checked will be
received.
The MIDI filter does not turn the corresponding
function on/off, but simply specifies whether that
MIDI message will be received. (
☞PG p.58)
For tracks whose “Status” is BTH, EXT, or EX2,
these settings will apply to the MIDI messages that
are transmitted when you change the settings of
the program, pan, volume, portamento, or send 1/
2 parameters.
