Step 5. Remove any adapters that impede access to the UEFI boot recovery jumper block (J29), see
“Removing an adapter” on page 447.
Step 6. Move the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3 to enable the UEFI recovery mode.
Step 7. Reinstall any adapter that you removed before (see
“Replacing an adapter” on page 448).
Step 8. Reinstall the server cover (see
“Installing the cover” on page 425); then, reconnect all power cords.
Step 9. Restart the server. The power-on self-test (POST) starts.
Step 10. Boot the server to an operating system that is supported by the firmware update package that you
downloaded.
Step 11. Perform the firmware update by following the instructions that are in the firmware update package
readme file.
Step 12. Copy the downloaded firmware update package into a directory.
Step 13. From a command line, type filename-s, where filename is the name of the executable file that you
downloaded with the firmware update package. Monitor the firmware update until completion.
Step 14. Turn off the server and disconnect all power cords and external cables, and then remove the server
cover (see
“Removing the cover” on page 424).
Step 15. Remove any adapters that impede access to the UEFI boot recovery jumper block (J29) (see
“Replacing an adapter” on page 448).
