Step 6. Disconnect the hard disk drive backplane cables from the connector on the front of the safety
cover.
Step 7. Slide the safety cover forward to disengage it from the system board, then lift it out of the server.

If you are instructed to return the safety cover, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging
materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Installing the 240 VA safety cover
Use this information to install the 240 VA safety cover.
To install the 240 VA safety cover, complete the following steps:
Step 1. Read the safety information that begins on
“Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on page
417
.
Step 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
Step 3. Remove the cover (see
“Removing the cover” on page 424).
Step 4. Remove the SAS/SATA riser-card assembly (see
“Removing the SAS/SATA RAID riser-card
assembly” on page 450
).
Step 5. Align the tabs on the bottom of the safety cover with the slots on the system board and lower the
safety cover into the system board.
