Step 5. Replace the cover (see “Installing the cover” on page 425).
Step 6. Slide the server into the rack.
Step 7. Reconnect the power cord and any cables that you removed.
Step 8. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
Removing the optional two-port Ethernet adapter
Use this information to remove the optional two-port Ethernet adapter.
To remove the Ethernet adapter, complete the following steps:
Step 1. Read the safety information that begins on
“Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on page
417
.
Step 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords.
Step 3. Remove the cover (see
“Removing the cover” on page 424).
Step 4. Remove the PCI riser-card assembly (if installed) from PCI riser connector 1 (see
“Removing a PCI
riser-card assembly” on page 487
).
Step 5. Grasp the Ethernet adapter and disengage it from the standoffs and the connector on the system
board; then, slide the Ethernet adapter out of the port openings on the rear of the chassis and
remove it from the server.
