2. Properly route and secure the cables in the node. Refer to the cable connecting and routing information
for each component (see
Chapter 2 “Internal cable routing” on page 127).
3. If applicable, reinstall the air baffle (see
“Install an air baffle” on page 34).
4. If applicable, install the top cover onto the node (see
“Install the top cover” on page 124).
5. If necessary, reinstall the node back into an enclosure (see
“Configuration guide” on page 9).
6. If necessary, install any locking devices that secure the top cover, such as a Kensington lock.
7. After checking and making sure that all necessary items are in place, reconnect all external cables and
then the power cords to the server.
Attention: To avoid component damage, connect all the other cables before connecting the power
cords.
8. Power on the server (see
“Power on the server” on page 7).
9. If necessary, reinstall the shipping bracket back into place (see
“Configuration guide” on page 9).
10. Update the server configuration.
Download and install the latest device drivers:
http://datacentersupport.lenovo.com.
Update the system firmware (see “Update the firmware” in User Guide or System Configuration
Guide).
Update the UEFI configuration. See

Reconfigure the disk arrays if you have installed or removed a hot-swap drive. See

for the LXPM documentation compatible with your server.
