6. Remove the CMOS battery for at least ten seconds, then, reinstall the CMOS battery.
7. Try to power on the system by IPMI command through XCC or by the power button.
8. Implement the minimum configuration.
9. Reseat all power source, PMB/PIB, and cables in between; then, check the power button LED again.
10. If the issue cannot be resolved by above actions, call service to review the issue symptom and see
whether the system board (system board assembly) replacement is necessary.

Serial device does not work
1. Make sure that:
The device is compatible with the server.
The serial port is enabled and is assigned a unique address.
The device is connected to the correct connector (see “Rear view in the User Guide or System
Configuration Guide”).
2. Reseat the following components:
a. Failing serial device.
b. Serial cable.
3. Replace the following components:
a. Failing serial device.
b. Serial cable.
4. (Trained technician only) Replace the system board.

1. To determine whether the problem is caused by the software, make sure that:
The server has the minimum memory that is needed to use the software. For memory requirements,

Note: If you have just installed a memory, the server might have a memory-address conflict.

The software works on another server.
2. If you receive any error messages while you use the software, see the information that comes with the
software for a description of the messages and suggested solutions to the problem.
3. Contact your place of purchase of the software.
