•DiscardChangesandExit:Discardchanges,loadpreviousvalues,andthenexittheSetupUtility
program.
•LoadOptimizedDefaults:Returntotheoptimizeddefaultsettings.
•SaveasUserDefaults:Savethecurrentsettingsasuserdefaultvalues.
•RestoreUserDefaults:Restoretheuserdefaultvaluesforalltheitems.
•PureUEFIOSOptimizedDefaults:EnableordisableoptimizeddefaultsettingsforthepureUEFI
operatingsystem.
Settingthesystemdateandtime
TosetthesystemdateandtimeintheSetupUtilityprogram,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage41.
2.OntheSystemInformationmenu,selectSystemDateorSystemTime.
3.UsetheTabkeytoswitchbetweendataelementsandtypethenumbersfromthekeyboardtosetthe
systemdateandtime.
4.PressF10tosavesettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.
Usingpasswords
ByusingtheSetupUtilityprogram,youcansetapasswordtopreventunauthorizedaccesstoyourserver.
Youdonothavetosetapasswordtouseyourserver.However,usingapasswordimprovescomputing
security.Ifyoudecidetosetapassword,readthefollowingtopics.
SetupUtilityprogrampasswordtypes
ThefollowingtypesofpasswordsareavailableintheSetupUtilityprogram:
•Administratorpassword
Settinganadministratorpassworddetersunauthorizedusersfromchangingconfigurationsettings.Ifyou
areresponsibleformaintainingtheconfigurationsettingsofseveralcomputers,youmightwanttoset
anadministratorpassword.Whenanadministratorpasswordisset,youarepromptedtotypeavalid
passwordeachtimeyoutrytoaccesstheSetupUtilityprogram.TheSetupUtilityprogramcannot
beaccesseduntilavalidpasswordistypedin.
•Userpassword
Whenauserpasswordisset,youarepromptedtotypeavalidpasswordeachtimetheserverturnson.
Youcannotlogintoanyoperatingsystemuntilavalidpasswordistypedin.
Note:Ifboththeadministratorpasswordanduserpasswordareset,youcantypeeitherpasswordtouse
theserver.However,youmustuseyouradministratorpasswordtochangeanyconfigurationsettings.
Passwordconsiderations
Forsecurityreasons,itisrecommendedtouseastrongpasswordthatcannotbeeasilycompromised.
Notes:
•TheSetupUtilityprogrampasswordsarenotcasesensitive.
•TheserversupportsSetupUtilityprogrampasswordsthatconsistofthreeto32characters.
