UsingtheBIOSrecoveryjumper
1.Removeallexternalmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedto
theserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage55.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage55.
4.LocatetheBIOSrecoveryjumperonthesystemboard.See“Systemboardjumpers”onpage33.
Then,removeanypartsanddisconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouraccesstothejumper.
Note:Donotremovethememorymodulesormicroprocessors.
5.Removethejumpercapfromthejumpercapstorage.See“Systemboardjumpers”onpage33.
6.NotetheorientationofthejumpercapandtheninstallthejumpercapontheBIOSrecoveryjumper.
7.Connecttheservertoanacpowersource.Theserverturnsonandthenturnsoffautomatically.
8.Movethejumpercapbacktothejumpercapstorage.See“Systemboardjumpers”onpage33.
9.Waitforabout20minutesfortheTSMtorecovertheBIOS.Topreventpermanentdamage,DO
NOTTURNOFFTHESERVERduringtherecoveryprocess.WhentheBIOSrecoveryprocessis
completed,theserverturnsonautomatically.
10.EnsurethattheSetupUtilityprogramstartsnormally.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”on
page41.Then,disconnecttheserverfromtheacpowersource.
11.Reinstallanypartsandreconnectanycables.Then,reinstalltheservercover.See“Completing
thepartsreplacement”onpage131.
12.Connecttheservertoanacpowersourceandturnontheserver.CheckandconfiguretheBIOS
settingsforyourspecificneeds.See“UsingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage41
