3.1.1.1 QNH RES (QNH and safety altitude)
After switching on, the pilot has an opportunity to input actual QNH, taken from meteorological service. Using this
feature it is possible to offset the altitude during the flight. Without input of initial QNH before the flight, this
function is not active.
Procedure:
• Using the v choose the item (QNH, ALT.R. MG.VAR. or BUGS)
• Press ENTER
• Use v and ENTER for input
• Close the procedure with ESC
Some GPS receivers don’t deliver mg. variation. In that case the input of local variation is obligatory, especially if
magnet compass is used for wind calculation, or mg. track is used by navigation. Having a receiver delivering
variation, no input is possible (AUTO message will appear)
ALT.R. allows input of safety altitude by final glide, after input the final glide will go higher than calculated by
computer and the arrival should happen on ALT.R. altitude. The final glide difference indicator will be on zero
during the final glide.
“BUGS” is polar degradation because of “buggy” wings. The input is in glide ratio degradation percentage.
(5%, means glide ratio degradation is 5%)
3.1.1.2 LOGGER
As mentioned before, the flight recorder (logger) of LX 7000 fulfills all IGC commission requirements, but is not
approved that means only using LX 7000 IGC configuration will produce FAI accepted flights. For another
configurations of LX 7000 is necessary to use an approved logger like NMEA source for LX 7000.
After “enter” the LOGGER will follow.
