[] Playback
Before you begin:
Turnontheamplifierandanyotherdevicewhichisconnectedto thisunit.
Makesurethe externalaudioreceiveraresetto the correctinputmode.
Press [STANDBY-ON O] to turn on the unit.

2 Press [OPEN/CLOSE---].

•The unit switches to the DVD mode when the unit
was in TV mode.
3 Insert a disc with its label side facing up.
Align the disc to the
disc tray guide.
• In case the DVD was recorded on both sides, make
sure the side you want to play back is facing up.
Press [PLAY I_]. The tray will close and playback will
start.
• If playback does not start automatically, press
[PLAY _] again.
5 Press [STOPII] to stop playback temporarily.
• If playback remains stopped for 5 minutes, the screen
saver program will activate automatically,
and in 15 minutes with no activity at the unit, the unit
will turn off when "AUTO POWER OFF" is set to "ON"
(factory default).
6 Press [OPEN/CLOSE _] to eject the disc.

• "Q" may appear at the top-right on the TV _ 1
screen when the operation isprohibited by

the discor this unit.
• SomeDVD may start playback from title 2 or 3 due to specific
programs.
• During the playback of a 2-layered disc, pictures may stop for
a moment. This happens while the 1stlayer isbeing switched
to the 2nd layer. Thisisnot a malfunction.

Press [DISC MENU] to call up the disc menu, or press
[TITLE] to call up the title menu.

Use [Cursor A IV / _1 / I_] to select an item, then press
[ENTER] (or [PLAY I_]).

[] Resume Playback
Press [STOP II] during playback.
Resume message will appear on
the TV screen.
Press [PLAY I_]. Playback will
resume from the point at which
playback was stopped.
Note:
• Tocancelresume,press[STOPII] one moretime in thestop
mode.Onsomediscs,[STOPII] will not work while the resume
messageappears.Pleasewait until themessagedisappears.
• Theresume information will bekept evenwhen unit is turned
off. However, opening the disc tray will cancel the resume fea-
ture. Playback will start at the beginning the next time you
insert the disc.

Press [PAUSE I I] during playback.
• Playback will be paused and sound will be
muted.
To continue playback, press [PLAY I_].
