5. Wear limit of friction plates is to the depth of the
circumferential grooves X Figure 9-18. Check all plates
for flatness and damage. (Some scoring of the
counterplates is normal.) Completely replace the brake
pack if worn or damaged. Do not replace individual
plates.
6. Remove the three reaction pins D Figure 9-19. Inspect
for damage.
7. Carefully remove brake piston E Figure 9-20 from its
housing, if removal is necessary. A hydraulic hand pump
can be used to force the piston out of the housing.
