To
temporarily silence all speaker outputs such as
when interrupted by a phone call, press the MUTE
button
on
the front panel
or
MUTE button on the
remote.
This will interrupt the output to all speakers and the
head-phone jack, but it will not affect any recording
or dubbing that may be in progress.
When the system is muted, the display will show
"MUTE ON" .
Press the MUTE button again to return to normal
operation.

This jack may be used to listen to the unit's output
through a pair of headphones. Be certain that the
headphones have a standard 1/4" stereo phono plug.
(Note that the speakers will automatically be turned
off when the headphone jack is in use.)

Adjust
the
volume
to a
comfortable
level
using
the
VOLUME
control knob on the front panel
or
VOLUME A / ... buttons on the remote.
To
increase the volume, turn the VOLUME knob
clockwise or press VOLUME A button on the remote,
to decrease the volume, turn counterclockwise
or
press VOLUME ... button on the remote.
Note:
The volume can be adjusted within the range
of
-
90
(00)
to 0 dB, in steps
of
I dB.
When
a
Video
source
is
selected,
the
video
signal for that input will be routed to the Monitor
Output jack and will be viewable on a
TV
monitor
connected to the SR4023.
During a listening session you may wish to adjust the
Bass and Treble Control to suit your listening tastes
or
room acoustics.
(Using
the
remote
control
unit)
To
adjust the bass effect, press BASS A
or
BASS ...
on the remote.
To
adjust the treble effect, press
TREBLE
A
or
TREBLE ... on the remote.
Balance Control cannot be adjusted with the remote
control unit.
Note:
When Source Direct mode
is
set, tone control
is
disable.

Before you can listen to any input media, you must
first select the input source on the SR4023.
(example:
DVD)
The input name will appear
in
the display
on
the
front-panel.
When an audio source
is
selected, the last video
input used remains routed to the VCR
Output
and Monitor Output. This permits simultaneous
viewing and listening to different sources.

1.
Turn on the
power
of the audio
equipment
connected to this unit. Set the input selector on
the audio equipment to this unit.
2.
Connect the AC power cable to the wall outlet.
3.
Press the POWER ON/STANDBY button on
the unit. Each time you press the button, the
power
to the unit switches between on and
standby.
To
turn
on
the power with the remote controller,
first press the AMP button and then press the
POWER ON or SOURCE POWER button on
the remote controller.
To
select DVD, simply press the DVD button on the
front panel or press the DVD button on the remote.
After you have selected DVD, simply turn on the DVD
player and play the DVD.
