6.4 ENGINE OIL CHANGE
Use diesel engine oil
Topup the engine oil through the hole (ref.1). To change
the oil in the engine oilsump, takeout thedipstick (ref.2).
Suct exhaust oil with a manual pump (ref.3).
It is advisable to drain the oil when it is still sufficiently
warm so that it flows easily.
- Dispose of theused oilin an appropriate manner,
since itis apolluting product.
- Takethe usedoil tospecial wastecollection centres
for disposal.
- Weargloves to protect the hands from contact with
oil. In case of accidental contact withengine oil,
thoroughlywash theaffectedpartwith soapandwater.
-Do not top-up with oil orrefuel above the maximum
level.An excessivequantity ofoil may cause damage
tothe engine.
Always check proper viscosity of the engine oil in
relation to the range of temperatures in which the
generatoroperates, as indicated inchap 6.5.
6.5 OIL FILTER
To replace the engine oil filter cartridge, follow the
procedure below:
- Remove andextract the filter (ref.4).
- Screw in the new filter after cleaning the rubber seal
andseatingsurface andensureitis inperfectcondition.
Whenthe operationhas beencompleted, thoroughly
cleanall the parts ofthe generator soiled with oil and
fuel.
For engine safety reasons, use only original spare
parts.
