5.c Requirements for the electrical connection:
The supply voltage must correspond with the
specifications on the type plate.
The supply line must be fused on-site with a
ground fault circuit interrupter (max. 30 mA).
If the machine is connected via a mains plug the
power socket must be easily accessible, so
that the cable can be unplugged in case of faults.
If the machine is permanently connected, a
switch with at least 3 mm contact separation
with on-site circuit breaker must be fitted.
5.d Requirements for the personnel
Setting, cleaning and preparation the machine
must be carried out by staff instructed by the
operator or manufacturer.
All repairs and maintenance on the machine
must be carried out by our Technical Service
staff or staff authorized by the manufacturer.
The machine may only be used (in self-service
or service operation) by persons, who are
familiar with handling heat-generating appliances.
The machine must not be used without
supervision by children or people, who, due to
their physical, sensory or mental abilities or their
lack of experience or knowledge are unable to
use it safely.
5.e Requirements for the place of installation
The machine must be positioned and used in
closed dry rooms, never outdoors! Humidity and
temperature can affect the functionality and
safety of the machine.
The machine must be positioned or stored in
frost-free places.
The installation area must offer at least 10 cm of
free space to the back due to heat generation
and at least 20 cm on top in order to allow
access to the ground coffee container.
To provide access for supply lines, an opening
of Ø 160 mm is required in the centre at the
bottom of the machine.
If the machine cannot be operated by trained
staff, it must be positioned in such a manner that
it can be continuously supervised by trained
staff.
The machine must be placed on a level surface.
5.f Requirements regarding use
The cleaning procedures detailed in these
instructions must be carried out regularly.
Maintenance of the machine is required after
80,000 cups or 12 months of use (whichever
occurs first). This must be carried out by our
Technical Service staff (subject to charge).
Noticeable malfunctions or faults must be
checked by our Technical Service staff and
repaired if necessary, before the machine can
be used again.
Commercial operators are obliged to carry out a
mandatory check of the unit every 4 years by an
authorized electrician, who will test and
document its required condition. This test can be
carried out and certified by our Technical
Service staff (such tests are not required before
initial installation).
5.g Requirements for the product material
The ground coffee must be suitable for use in
commercial coffee machines, for example
MELITTA® "Favorit Premium" or "Highland
Classic".
The cleaning agent used in the ground coffee
container must be suitable for use in MELITTA®
coffee machines, for example "SWIRL cleaner
3000" (Product No. 1011012).
