6. Safety precautions and warnings
The safety precautions and warnings only relate to the
product itself. Additional mandatory operator duties,
for example with regard to food hygiene and work
safety, are published by the legislator - not by machine
manufacturers.
Please include the information gained from these
safety precautions and warnings in the operating
instructions given to your personnel and self-
service guests:
➀ The product outlet area poses a potential risk of
scalding, when hot liquids are dispensed. This
applies to ...
– the dispensing of beverages
– automatic cleaning.
Ensure that nobody can reach inside the product
outlet area while the machine is switched on,
except of course to place or take away cups and
jugs - in this case, the necessary protective
distances have been built into the machine's
design.
➁ There is danger of crushing when reaching
inside the ground coffee container while the
machine is switched on:
– Ensure that the container remains locked
whenever the machine is switched on. During
normal operation, there is no need to reach
inside the machine.
❍ Danger to life through electric shock and risk of
injury through hot or moving parts if housing
components or covers are opened:
– Never open any housing components or
covers unless explicitly instructed to do so.
There are no operating controls inside the
machine.
❍ Protect the machine from humidity! There is
danger to life through electric shock, if water
reaches parts of the machine other than those it is
meant to. In particular, the machine ...
– must not be used outdoors
– must not be sprayed with water.
– The vicinity of the machine must not be
sprayed, for example with a water hose or
high-pressure cleaner.
➀
➁
❍ Do not use the machine in case of visible
damage or obvious malfunctions. Important
safety functions may be impaired. Have the
machine checked by our Technical Service staff
and serviced, if necessary, if:
– the housing is damaged or covers do not
close properly
– the mains cable or power plug are
damaged or the fuse for the machine's
electric circuit trips repeatedly
– water leaks from the machine
– error messages appear on the display or the
machine does not function as expected
– abnormal smell or heat is generated in the
housing (the housing should never be more
than hand-hot during operation).
Disconnect the machine from the power
supply in these cases and turn off the water.
Then, consult our Technical Service staff.
