14. Maintenance
Due to the dangers involved, all repair and
maintenance work on the machine may only be
carried out by MELITTA® Technical Service staff,
or a specialist authorized by the company.
14.a In case of malfunctions:
Noticeable malfunctions or damage to the machine
must be checked by our Technical Service staff and
repaired if necessary before the machine can be
used again. This applies to...
❍ damage to the housing
❍ the mains cable or power plug are damaged or
the fuse for the machine's electric circuit trips
repeatedly
❍ water leaking from the machine
❍ error messages appearing on the display or the
machine not functioning as expected
❍ abnormal smells or heat generated in the
housing (during normal operation the housing
should only be warm to the touch).
Disconnect the machine from the power supply
and turn off the water. Consult customer services.
14.b Inspection / service intervals
❍ The machine must be serviced after 80,000
cups or 12 months of use (whichever occurs first)
by our Technical Service staff (subject to
charge). Ensure that the relevant appointment is
made in time in order to avoid unnecessary wear.
❍ Check the efficiency of the attached water filter
by consulting the relevant operating instructions.
Replace all water filters at least once a year to
prevent microbial water contamination.
On request, MELITTA® SystemService offers a
comprehensive maintenance contract, which also
guarantees the observance of all service and
maintenance intervals.
Do not dispose of the machine
with your household rubbish!
15. Disposal
This machine is constructed and produced in such a
way that it can be disposed of with minimum impact
on the environment.
15.a Waste
The waste created by brewing coffee is purely
organic and can therefore be disposed of as ordinary
household waste.
15.b Waste water
The waste water created by brewing and cleaning
complies with the guidelines for general household
waste water and can thus be led directly into the
normal drains.
15.c Cleaning agents
The cleaning agents recommended in these
instructions, or purchased from
MELITTA®SystemService, correspond to legal
requirements (if used as instructed) and may thus be
led, together with the waste water, directly into the
normal drains without further measures.
15.d Machine
MELITTA® coffee machines are made from
high-quality raw materials, which should be recycled.
When disposing of this machine, the relevant laws
and regulations in your region/country must be
observed.
