13.f Cleaning the sensor in the storage urn
When, after the start of the cleaning program, the
storage urn is filled with about 3 l of liquid (after
approx. 4 minutes):
➀ Clean the sensor behind the protective plate to
the front right-hand side of the storage urn daily
with the supplied brush - and nothing else!
13.g Weekly cleaning
Switch the machine off and let it cool down.
➁ Clean the product outlet area at least once a
week - more frequently when used heavily or
visibly stained.
❍ Regularly wipe all plastic parts, coated surfaces
and stainless steel components with a damp
cloth. Do not use abrasive detergents or sharp
objects.
❍ If you use a stainless steel cleaner, this must
be suitable for MELITTA® coffee machines, for
example neoblank spray (19244).
➂ Remove the drip grate whenever it is dirty.
Clean it with hot water and conventional
washing-up liquid.
➃ Thoroughly wipe the drip tray with a damp cloth.
13.h Cleaning the coffee grounds separator:
If you use a coffee grounds separator, this must be
emptied regularly - ideally every time the machine is
cleaned.
Caution: Do not empty the coffee grounds separator
when the machine is in operation or being cleaned.
Risk of scalding!
➄ Ensure that the hose between the machine and
the separator is replaced in such a way that it
empty fully. A "water reservoir" in the hose may
lead to malfunctioning.
13.i Replace the water filter ...
– when the "Info display" under chapter 11.d
indicates an imminent depletion
– at the latest, when the respective notice appears
on the display
– definitely once a year.
