13. Cleaning
Please clean the coffee machine carefully and
according to the following instructions in order to
retain its value and maintain hygiene standards:
Cleaning intervals
The cleaning program must be run at least once a
day - normally before you switch the machine on or
at the end of the day, especially before and after long
periods of inactivity (for example weekends). The
automatic cleaning program can be run at any time.
Automatic reminder
In order to ensure a regular cleaning cycle, we
recommend setting a fixed cleaning time as
described in chapter 11.l.
❍ The display shows the cleaning reminder
"CLEANING!",if…
– the cleaning time has passed ...
– and the machine has been in use for at least 1
hour since the last cleaning cycle ..
– and has brewed coffee at least once.
Postponing cleaning
When the cleaning reminder appears on the display,
you can postpone its start by 30 minutes. The
cleaning reminder then disappears and the normal
display is shown.
❍ Press the –
button to postpone cleaning by
30 minutes.
The cleaning reminder reappears after 30 minutes,
this time accompanied with an acoustic signal.
Forced cleaning with disabled dispensing
If cleaning is postponed until the next scheduled
cleaning time (for example the next day), product
dispensing is disabled.
In order to reset the cleaning reminder or
deactivated dispensing, the automatic cleaning
program must be run.
13.a Prepare cleaning
Caution: During the cleaning process, the machine
releases hot water and steam as well as rinsing
liquid. The resulting splashes in the product outlet
area present a risk of scolding. Therefore:
❍ Ensure that nobody reaches inside the product
outlet area during the cleaning cycle.
➁ Ensure that you put the supplied adapter pipe
on the coffee outlet for jugs.The rinsing liquid
consequently runs into the drip tray.
Please remember to take off the adapter pipe
when cleaning is completed.
13.b Start cleaning
❍ Turn the key-operated switch to the "0" (Off) and
then the "Operator" position.
❍ When "Start cleaning?" appears on the
display, …
❍ simultaneously press the
JW and CC buttons.
❍ If the installed water filter is depleted, a relevant
message appears on the display. Have the water
filter replaced by our Technical Service staff.
Warning!
Ensure that the machine …
z is never submerged in water and
z is never dowsed in water and
z is never hosed down for cleaning.
z The vicinity of the machine must not be
sprayed, for example with a water hose or
high-pressure cleaner.
There is danger to life through electric shock, if
water gets inside the machine and into live
elements.
Disconnect the machine from the power supply
and let it cool down before carrying out manual
cleaning.
This will reduce risk of injury through accidental
contact with hot or moving parts.
