Note:Continueduseofthestarterwiththekeynot
releasedafterenginestartupwillnotonlydischarge
thebattery,butmaydamagethestarter,ywheeland
catalyticconverter.
DONOTpresstheacceleratorpedalwhilestartingand
DONOToperatethestarterformorethan15secondsat
atime.Iftheenginefailstostart,removethekeyandwait
foratleast10sbeforethesecondattempt.
Ifthekeyisnotrecognisedbytheengineimmobilisation
systemwhenitisinsertedintotheignitionswitch,the
enginewillbedisabled.Theengineimmobilisationsystem
warninglampwillilluminate(referto"WarningLightsand
Indicators"in"InstrumentsandControls"chapter.).
IMPORTANT
•Ifyoutrytostartconsecutivelyfor3timesand
itfails,pleaseseekassistancefromyourlocalMG
AuthorisedRepairer .Whenattemptingtostartthe
carconsecutively,pleaseallow10minutesbetween
attemptstoallowbatteryrestorationandengine
cooling,failuretodothismayresultinbatteryor
enginedamage.
•DonotleavetheignitionswitchintheACCor
ON/RUNpositionforlengthyperiodswhenthe
engineisnotrunning,otherwiseitmayleadto
batterydischarge.
•Y ourcariscontrolledbyelectroniccontrolsystems.
Whenstartingtheengine,pleasemakesure
therearenoelectronicdevicesthatcancreate
electromagneticinterferencenearthevehicle.This
maycauseissueswiththeelectroniccontrolsystems
onthevehicle.
