speedsusemorefuel.Appropriatespeedcansavefuel.
Maintainthecorrectwheelalignment.Avoidcollision
withthekerbandreducespeedonunevenroad
surfaces.Outofspecicationwheelalignmentwillnot
onlyleadtoexcessivetyrewear,butalsoincreasesthe
engineloadandfuelconsumption.
Avoiddrivingonmudorbeaches.Thiswillprevent
corrosionofthevehicleunderside.
MaintainthevehicleinaccordancewithMG
recommendations.Dirtyairlters,oiletc.,willreduce
theengine'sperformanceandraisefuelconsumption.
T oextendthelifeofallcomponentsandreduce
operatingcosts,regularMGApprovedmaintenanceis
needed.
Donotstoptheenginestraightafterhighspeedorlong
ascentsortowingatrailer.Allowtheenginetoidlefor
20to100secondsdependingupondrivingloadsand
conditions.Avoidhardaccelerationonacoldengine.
Maintenance
Havethevehicleregularlyserviced
Regularservicingwillensureoptimumfuelconsumption
andminimizeexhaustpollutants,aswellaseffectively
extendingtheservicelifeofthecar.
Checktyrepressuresregularly
Under-inatedtyresincreasetherollingresistanceofthe
carwhich,inturn,increasesfuelconsumption.Overor
under-inatedtyreswearoutmorerapidlyandalsohavea
detrimentaleffectonthecar’shandlingcharacteristics.
Donotcarryunnecessaryloads
Theadditionalweightofunnecessaryloadswastesfuel,
especiallyinstop/startconditionswherethecaris
frequentlyrequiredtosetofffromstationary.
