MG MG3 - Starting the Engine

STARTINGANDDRIVING
•Releasethekeyimmediatelyaftertheengineisstarted,
theignitionswitchwillreturntotheON/RUNposition
automatically.
Note:WhentheignitionswitchisintheLOCK/OFF
positionandthekeyisnotremoved,ifthedriverdoor
isopened,thebuzzersoundstoindicatethatthekey
isnotremoved.
Note:Beforestartingtheengineensurethatthegear
leverisintheneutralposition.
Note:Whenthesteeringwheelislockedandthekey
cannotbeturnedfromtheLOCK/OFFpositiontothe
ACCposition,pleaseturnthesteeringwheelslightly
whilstturningthekeytounlockthesteeringwheel.
StartingtheEngine
Neverstartorleavetheenginerunning
inanunventilatedbuilding.Becausethe
exhaustgasofthecarishazardous,and
thecarbonmonoxideitcontainswillcause
unconsciousnessandevendeath.
Catalyticconverterscanbedamagedifthe
wrongfuelisused,orifanenginemisre
occurs.Beforestartingtheengine,please
readcarefullytheprecautionsdetailedunder
thesection"CatalyticConverter".
OperationofStartingtheEngine
1Switchoffallunnecessaryelectricalequipment
(includingtheairconditioning);
2Applytheparkingbrake;
3Ensurethatthegearleverisintheneutralposition
thenpresstheclutchpedaltotheoor;
4InsertthekeyandturnitclockwisetotheSTART
position;thenreleasethekeyimmediatelyafterthe
