Foraddedsafety,thehydraulicbrakingsystemoperates
throughdualcircuits.Ifonecircuitshouldfail,theother
willcontinuetofunction,butgreaterpedalpressurewillbe
needed,increasedbrakepedaltravelandlongerstopping
distanceswillbeexperienced.Ifthestoppingdistance
obviouslygetslongerandthebrakingforceincreases,the
carshouldbebroughttoahaltassoonastrafcconditions

ServoAssistance
Thebrakingsystemisservoassisted,alwaysbeawareof
thefollowingsduringtheoperation:
•Theservoassistancefunctionswiththeenginerunning
only.Neverallowthecartofreewheelwiththeengine
turnedoff.
•Alwaystakeparticularcarewhenbeingtowedwithfour
wheelsonthegroundandtheengineturnedoff.Ifthe
engineshouldstopforanyreasonwhiledriving,bring
thecartoahaltasquicklyastrafcconditionssafely
allow,anddonotpumpthebrakepedalasthebraking
systemwillloseanyremainingservoassistance.
•Oncetheenginehasstopped,itwillloseanyremaining
servoassistance,usesuitableforcetoapplythebrake
pedaltostopthecarsafelyinthecurrenttrafc
conditions.ContactanMGAuthorisedRepairer.
•Efciencyofthebrakeservoboostercanbeaffectedby
enginestallorotherconditions,suchasthechangeof
barometricpressure.Theseconditionscouldresultin
extraforcerequiredtooperatethebrakepedaltostop
thecar .
WetConditions
Drivingthroughwaterorheavyrainmayadverselyaffect
brakingefciency.Inthiscase,keepasafedistancefrom
othervehiclesandintermittentlyapplythebrakepedalto
keepthebrakesurfacedry.
