beabletodetectcertaintypesofobstruction,
e.g.narrowpostsorsmallobjectsnomore
thanafewincheswide,smallobjectsclose
totheground,objectsabovethetailgateand
someobjectswithnonreectivesurfaces.
Keepthesensorsfreefromdirt,iceandsnow.
Ifdepositsbuilduponthesurfaceofthe
sensors,theirperformancemaybeimpaired.
Whenwashingthecar,avoidaiminghigh
pressurewaterjetsdirectlyatthesensors
fromcloserange.

Theultrasonicsensorsintherearbumpermonitorthearea
behindthevehicletosearchforobstacles.Ifanyobstacle
isdetected,thesystemwillcalculateitsdistancefromthe
rearofthevehicleandcommunicatesthemessagetothe
driverbysoundingwarningchimes.
ParkingAidOperation
WhentheignitionswitchisintheONposition,therear
parkingaidisenabledautomaticallywhenreversegear
isselected,itisswitchedoffassoonasreversegearis
disengaged.Ashortbeepisgivenbytheparkingaidwithin
1secondafterselectingreversegeartoindicatethatthe
systemisoperatingnormally.
Note:Ifalonger,higherpitchedsoundisemittedfor
3secondswhenreversegearisselected,thisindicates
afaultinthesystem,seekassistancefromyourMG
AuthorisedRepairer.
Withtheparkingaidfunctionenabled,whenobstacles
aredetected,thesystemwillgivesoundsindifferent
frequencies(theremightbeblindzones).
