DONOTdriveifanytyreisdamaged,is
excessivelyworn,orisinatedtoanincorrect
pressure.
Alwaysdrivewithconsiderationfortheconditionofthe
tyres,andregularlyinspectthetreadandsidewallsforany
signofdistortion(bulges),cutsorwear.
Note:Ifpossible,protecttyresfromcontaminationby
oil,greaseandfuel.
T yrePressure
Beforealongdistancejourney,thetyre
pressuremustbechecked.
Checkthepressures(includingthesparewheel)atleast
everymonth,whenthetyresarecold.
Ifitisnecessarytocheckthetyreswhentheyarewarm,
youshouldexpectthepressurestohaveincreasedby0.3
to0.4bar(4.35to5.8psi).Inthiscircumstance,NEVERlet
airoutofthetyresinordertomatchtherecommended
pressures(cold).
Valves
Keepthevalvecapsscreweddownrmly-theypreventdirt
fromenteringthevalve.Checkthevalveforleaks(listen
foratell-talehissing)whenyoucheckthetyrepressure.
PuncturedT yres
Ifasharpobjectpenetratesthetyreandremainsinit,the
tyremaynotleak.Ifyouareawareofthisoccurring,reduce
speedimmediatelyanddrivewithcautionuntilthespare
wheelcanbetted,orrepairsundertaken.
Note:Ifthesidewallofthetyreisdamagedor
distorted,replacethetyreimmediately,DONOT
attemptarepair.
T yreWearIndicators
Atthebottomoftheoriginaltyretread,thereisa1.6
millimeterhighwearmarkperpendiculartothewheel
rollingdirection.Theseindicatorsaremouldedintothe
treadpatternatseveralpointsaroundthecircumference.
