2.1 Applications
TheTEEtransducerisusedtogetherwiththediagnosticultrasoundsystem,andisintended
forclinicalultrasounddiagnosisandexamination.Refertotheoperator’smanualofthe
diagnosticultrasoundsystem.
2.2 Precautions For Use
WARNING
The physician must take into account all possible factors before starting the
examination.
PrecautionsforusingtheTEEtransducerare:

adultsonly,fetalimagingandpediatricimagingarenotpermitted.

P8-3Tsisnotintendedforfetalimaging.
•
Imagingwhenthepatientexhibitsthefollowingorsimilarconditions:

Esophagealstricture,spasms,lacerations,andtroubleswallowing(dysphagia)
–
Esophagealdiverticula,esophagealvarices(swollenveins)
–
Gastrointestinalbleeding
–
Pepticulcers,hiatalhernia,esophagealwebsandrings
–
Recentradiationtreatmenttotheesophagus
–
Inabilityofthepatienttoswalloworaccommodatethetransducer
–
Historyofgastroesophagealdiseases
–
Othertherapiesthepatientmaybeundergoing
