The C signal is the reference signal. It is used to
determine the reference position for subsequent
positioning tasks.

In most incremental encoders, the reference signal
occurs once every turn of the encoder, although
several signals will be output over the entire travelling
distance . You should therefore determine the
validity of the signal using an additional signal (limit
switch signal) . Set up the validity range so that no
other reference signal occurs within this range.
A function block (“IncEncoder”) is provided for
processing the input signals of an incremental
encoder. One incremental encoder may be
connected to each PS 4-300..
