Station number
Station numbers are allocated from top to bottom.
The master always has number “0” and the first slave
has number “1”, and so on.
Module number
Module numbers are allocated from left to right in
ascending order. The basic unit is always given
number “0”, the first local expansion module number
“1”, and so on.

In the Sucosoft S 40 topology configurator, the
numbers of the components are displayed above
each module. The sequence of numbers also
corresponds to the first three digits of the
variable address.
